Horsham Cycle Challenge

July 13, 2013 by Clive 2 Comments

I’ve signed up for the Horsham Cycle Challenge which is a Love To Ride and West Sussex County Council initiative (I think) to encourage more people to go cycling. It’s more of a workplace thing as far as I can tell because there are prizes and a competition for signing up people from your workplace. I’m a freelancer working from a home office so that doesn’t really apply to me but I’ve signed up as an individual.

The Horsham Cycle Challenge is a fun, free competition to encourage your colleagues to experience first hand joys and benefits of riding a bike.

I was a bit late signing up really but nevertheless I think it’s a great initiative and over 500 people in Horsham have signed up. Great stuff!

As well as the website, the Horsham Cycle Challenge offers a free smartphone GPS app, which was developed by the parent website, Love To Ride. The app records your rides and publishes the results (distance, calories burned) to the website. I’ve used the app a couple of times and it works well. It’s a simple app but does the job!

Anyway, if you live in Horsham, there’s still time to sign-up for the last week and perhaps win a prize. Go the Horsham Cycle Challenge website and add you details and get out on your bike!

Wayne. If I participate in any other events, I will write about them here. However, I suggest you contact a local cycle club as well to find out about cycling events in your area.
